The Ford Maverick has a punchy, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 250 horsepower. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Maverick is also available in a hybrid version with 191 horsepower, an electric motor, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
The Ford Maverick can tow up to 4,000 pounds with the gasoline-only engine, including a midsized camper or a boat. It can also haul up to 1,500 pounds of payload. The Maverick was built to be a competent smaller work truck with a firm suspension. With the hybrid Maverick, you get up to 42 miles per gallon around Madera and up to 33 miles per gallon on the highway. The gasoline-only Maverick gets up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway and 23 miles per gallon around town.

The Ford Maverick has a short bed, but it can accommodate up to eight sheets of four-by-eight plywood flat in the bed. It is a crew cab with a roomy rear seating row for drives around Fresno. A 120-volt outlet is available for the truck bed. An infotainment touchscreen and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard. Also standard is the Ford safety package.
